According to the National 2012 Census, the total population of Guyana is 746, 955 comprising a total of 371,805 males and 375,150 females.

As can be observed on the diagram above, the majority of Guyana’s population reside in the coastal regions of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The largest percentage of the population is to be found to be in Region 4 followed by Region 6. The least populated Region was found to be Region 8.
