Summary of Guyana’s Population by Occupation

The graph highlights the population of persons based on their occupation for each of the ten Regions in Guyana. Some of the Occupation reflected are Armed Forces Occupation, Managers, Professionals, Technicians, Clerical Support Workers, Service and Sales Workers, Skilled, Craft and Related Trades, Plant and Machine, Elementary Occupation, and No Occupation/Student.

• Region 4 has the highest number of persons whose occupation is Armed Forces Occupation (945), while Region 7, 8 and 10 respectively have the lowest number of persons (1) whose occupation is Armed Forces Occupation.

• Region 4 has the highest number of persons whose occupation is Managers (4,309), while Region 1 has the lowest number of persons (138) whose occupation Managers

• Region 4 has the highest number of persons whose occupation is Professionals (10,338), while Region 8 has the lowest number of persons (191) whose occupation is Professionals.

• Region 4 has the highest number of persons whose occupation is Technicians (7,491), while Region 8 has the lowest number of persons (97) whose occupation is Technicians.

• Region 4 has the highest number of persons whose occupation is Clerical Support Workers (10,246), while Region 8 has the lowest number of persons (44) whose occupation is Clerical Support Workers.

• Region 4 has the highest number of persons whose occupation is Service and Sales Workers (30,565), while Region 8 has the lowest number of persons (457) whose occupation is Service and Sales Workers.
