Demographics is the statistical characterization of the human population and groups within it such as the distribution of age, sex, income, ethnic groups, etc.

The human population of Guyana represent one of its major resources. The understanding of the demographic distribution of the population groups throughout the country could give a more in-depth understanding of the needs of the people and the decisions to better serve the people.
